PSP2I – Captain T, Olga Flow and Rods! SoA’s Community Event announced!

It’s friday, so you know what this means, it’s Captain T’s day to post at the official blog!

Olga Flow was the first boss that was brought up when topic of new bosses for PSP2i was being discussed. At first, it was just going to be the first form but after discussion, both first and second forms were put in the game. It also seems that there will be more titles for doing interesting things this time around like blocking Olga Flow’s big attack.

At the bottom of the post, in his usual spoilers, Captain T says the following: Rod guarding is God-like.
Forces, this one’s for you, you can now guard with Rods!

Also, SEGA of America announced the details about their upcoming Community Event, similar to the last one they had with Phantasy Star Zero.
This one will include Phantasy Star Portable 2, Valkyria Chronicles 2 and Sonic 4: Episode 1.

PS – Item contest finalists revealed!

Sakai made a post today at the official Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity blog to reveal the finalists for the item design contest!
From the finalists, there will be a first place, a second place, a third place and then a few runner-up winners picked for the categories, and the winners will have their designs added in games of the Phantasy Star series.

PSP2 – JP DLC missions in my EN PSP2? It’s more likely than you think!

Naturally, this is a “use at your own risk” method, since it’s unsupported, it just happens to work and may even get patched/locked out at some point.

PSP2 – PSP2 US is out today

In other news, US players can now purchase this awaited title, while unfortunately European players will have to wait a little longer for the english version.
PSP2 is available both at retail stores and from the PlayStation Network as a downloadable title.

PSP2 – US Demo released with online multiplayer!

The PSP2 Demo was released in the US PlayStation Store, with the awesome bonus of having full online capabilities, unlike the Japanese demo which had online limited to those who were selected to participate (almost like a beta test).

Appart from some VERY bizarre re-translation choices (Partner Machines are now known as MySynth in the demo, Line Shields are now known as Weaves, Lumilass is now known as Salon even though the texture behind the NPC still says Lumilass, etc), the demo is a very good way of checking out how PSP2 is in case you still haven’t tried it (blasphemy).

PSP2 – Fan Art contest for Phantasy Star Portable 2

According to this post on the SEGA of America Blog, a Fan Art contest which ends on the 2nd of June.
The grand prize winner gets a free copy of the game and their art as a wallscroll room decoration included in the game.
There will be two first prize winners, both get a free copy of the game and their arts featured on the SEGA blogs.
The runner ups, of which there will be seven of them, will each receive a Phantasy Star T-Shirt and an inflatable Rappy.

A bit on the short notice side from SEGA’s part, but good luck for those who participate!

According to an article at Siliconera, this is to be the US cover for PSP2.

PSP2 – Phantasy Star Portable 2 for the PSP, EU and US, announced!

As announced at both the SEGA Europe Blog and the SEGA USA Blog, Phantasy Star Portable 2 for the PSP is finally coming outside Japan!

According to these news, the EU and US versions will have Infrastructure Multiplayer like the Japanese version had, but no official word yet about the collaboration items being or not being in it as of yet.
